Greetings from Sydney.
The Tibetan and Chinese New Year is here again! Let’s take a look at the yearly changes to your Feng Shui for the year of the Iron Ox 2021, which starts on February 12th.
This year is good for those born in the year of the Ox, Snake and Rooster. It is negative for Sheep. So what are the things to look out for in 2021?
- Do not sit facing the Northeast this year
- Do not sit with your back to the East this year but it is ok to sit facing it
- Put a large wind chime with six hollow metal tubes in the Southeast sector, especially if your front door or bedroom is located there and remove any crystals
- Similarly, put a six-rod wind chime in the North sector this year
- A fountain located in the West sector (and flowing towards the centre of your place) is good for wealth
- Remove any wind chimes in the Northwest to counter the increased condition for robbery and accidents, especially if your front door is located there.
- Put a bright light in the Southwest sector for help with relationships.
Firstly, check out your good and bad personal directions, which I explained in my blog – ‘Time to get a good direction in your life‘. This is one of the most important things you can possibly know. Everyone has four good and four bad directions. They are easy to put into effect and can change your life. Especially, make sure you sleep with the crown of your head towards one of your good directions.
There are two negative yearly influences that affect those good directions and you have to take them into account at the beginning of each Chinese year. The first is called the ‘Grand Duke’ and it affects the direction that you sit facing. This year it is in the Northeast direction (specifically the 15 degrees between the compass bearings of 23 and 37 degrees known as NE1). Do not to sit facing this direction at all this year. Some people also choose not to sleep with the crown of their heads towards this direction. As I usually mention, my personal view is that sleeping with your head towards the Grand Duke is not as ‘confrontational’ as sitting facing him. The negative effect is bureaucratic problems and general obstacles getting things moving in your life, especially in your career. Also, do not start any renovations in the Northeast sector. You can start elsewhere and get round to this sector later.
The second negative influence with regard to your directions is called the ‘Three Killings’ and you should not sit with your back to it. It is in the Eastern direction this year so do not sit facing West.
These first two recommendations are about ‘directions’ and all the following ones are about ‘locations’ or ‘sectors’ within your place. You can use your directions anywhere within any building for your whole life – just beware of those two negative yearly ones that I just mentioned. To figure out the ‘locations’ you need to draw a tic-tac-toe grid on your floor plan of nine equal sectors – simply divide each side of the floor plan into three and join the lines to make a grid of square or rectangular sectors (this is called the ‘Lo Shu’ square). Use a good quality compass to figure out which sector is which. Then place the recommended enhancements in each sector.
Firstly, you should remove the enhancements that I recommended for last year.
The most negative influence that you must check every year is the location of the ‘Five Yellows’. It was in the East last year and was a condition for problems with health so the worldwide health emergency was predictable from this point of view. This year this heavy earth influence moves to the Southeast location where it negatively affects the wealth of all family members. The problem will be worse if your front door is located in this sector or your bedroom is there. Some people prefer not to sleep in this sector for the whole year. Wealth problems are expected this year of course and you should take steps to avoid the conditions for them as much as possible, as follows.
Remove any crystals in the Southeast sector to avoid problems with wealth. It is important to hang a large wind chime with six hollow metal tubes in the Southeast sector to counteract the ‘Five’ Yellows’. You can use the one that was located in the East sector in 2020. It can be inside or outside and does not have to make any sound. Metal is not a very good element for the Southeast sector but it is necessary to control the Five Yellows.
The yearly eight star is located in the West sector this year and place a metal fountain here with the water flowing in towards the centre. With this in place, you can expect some additional income.
The ‘3’ star is located in the Southwest sector this year and is a heavy wood influence that will be negative for relationships. To counter this, put a bright light in the Southwest of your place.
A negative influence called the ‘7 yearly star’ is located in the Northwest sector, which increases the conditions for robbery, violence and accidents involving metal (such as car bingles). Homes with a front door in the NW should pay attention to the security of the place this year. It is better not to have a windchime in this area this year.
A six-rod wind chime is recommended in the North sector for controlling the possibility of sickness for anyone whose bedroom or study is located in that area. As usual, it does not have to make a sound in order for it to work.
These Feng Shui recommendation are an integrated package and it is best to do ALL of them. They may contradict some of the general 20-year recommendations but it is very important to check every year and make these adjustments. My most successful clients are the ones who diligently check these yearly changes, especially if I visit them yearly as I often do.
You will recall my predictions for President Trump last year: If the main door to his new home faces East and Feng Shui has not been taken care of for this year then he is likely to experience some major problems. And as his desk in the Oval Office faces North, he is going to get the double-dose of negative energy from the ‘Grand Duke’ and the ‘Three Killings’ all year. That means problems with authority figures and (even more) criticism and back-stabbing.
The Ox year is one for dogged determination and strength in adversity, especially the financial kind. Hunker down and you will get through it. Governments will try to take advantage of the new-found compliance that people have shown in 2020. There will be attempts at more control from authoritarians.
The cause of success in wealth is generosity. If you have success please use it to donate, in a selfless way, to your favourite charity. That will in turn lead to more success in the future.
